The April 28 article in the Standard announces the retirement of the boss hired 18 years ago by the Board members of DSBN. The chair of the Board is quoted, saying “ every piece that he does with the board is focused on students and what they need” followed by “He has always had the students and staff at the centre of every decision that we have made. “

Now , 18 years later the 11 newly elected board members must hire a new boss.  Barnett says “ we have lead up time to put together our thoughts about who we want, what we want and the direction we want to go. It’s a new chapter for DSBN”

Even though there is no mention of parents or taxpayers or the public in general , there is a rare opportunity for any and all of the above to contact Board members *and say “ who we want, what we want and the direction we want to go. “ The board members are elected representatives of all of us who are parents, grandparents and those who pay taxes to the DSBN. They should hear from us now. It is easy to Google DSBN and find your trustee and send a message with your opinions. Now is the first time in 18 years that we have a very real and direct opportunity to have a say in the “next chapter of DSBN “ and the education of todays children,
